News flash dingbat, not all people of faith are christian & not all of them are immigrants. Not all residents of Israel are Jewish and yet there are no Nativity scenes in their airports. Name Calling = not nice

How about a burning Yule log? How about a Winter Solstice display? How about a display of the Dome on the Rock? I say go for it. Why the hell not? We do have people of other faiths in this country & they do contribute to taxes.

What does what Israel may or may not do have to do with any of this?

How about inclusion instead of exclusion? Airports are funded by taxpayer money. Not all taxpayers are christian. Some worship SATAN. Should we have statues of Satan, Hindu cows, Buddha, Khomeini, Osama bin Laden, Pele, etc. in airports, too? I'm not black but I often see blacks advertising items for local grocery stores.

It affects everyone, Kissy, because when they took down those trees, others may follow in other airports, other cities, other bus stops , other trains, other this and that. It may not be in your neighborhood, but it could be tomorrow. It could be your home in another 30 years becuase someone will complain that they don't like your Christmas tree lights as they walk or drive past your home. I don't like to give any ground. once you give up ground, others will want more ground. I hope you realize of course, that there is no difference between you complaining that the Christmas trees were brought down at the airport, and this Rabbi complaining that the Menorah was not there? I love irony. You complain because Christmas is being removed, they complain because THEIR religious celebration isn't recognized. Since when does the Christian majority have the right to dictate to the rest of the country how we ALL celebrate the holiday season? Sorry, but taking an alarmist position only makes the situation worse. Truth is it DOESN'T affect you. Not really. Taking up the torch for the Christians who breeze in and out of the Seatle airport for all of an hour or less on the ASSUMPTION that Christmas will be removed at your house 30 years from now seems a little silly, IMO.

So tell me. How does the Seatle Airport's holiday decorations, or lack there of, affect YOUR Christmas? I'm so sick of those who complain, and those who change for the sake of complaining. That goes for those who complain because it's there, and those that complain because it ISN'T there. It's silly, and couterproductive to the Season. I recognize that the holidays' have NOW become more about whiners and complainers then those who actually ENJOY the season for what it is. Geez...give it UP already. *the above rant is not directed at anyone in particular in reference to complainers and whiners just so no one get's their knickers in a twist* End soapbox. ;D It's about precedent. No...not really. It's about who complains the loudest, and has enough money to back those complaints. Bah humbug.

What does what Israel may or may not do have to do with any of this? Why do American airports have to display symbols of foreign war victories? The Rabbi is Jewish. The homeland of Judaism is Israel. Do Israeli airports contain displays of foreign wars or minority religions? The Menorah is a symbol of the Jews of Judea's victory over the Syrians 2300 years ago. If German-American taxpayers wanted to celebrate the Nazi invasion of Poland in 1939 by displaying swastika flags in U.S. airports would that be okay, too?

Oh good grief. The Mennorah is a symbol of Hannuka. Most people don't give a rat's patoot about its history any more than they know or care about the history of a Christmas tree.
