When you sin, you get kicked out. A gay guy has no business being in a leadership position in a church. I feel for his family. He had many years to deal with his sin. He chose not to. God holds the leaders of the church to a higher standard then others. They are the called of God. This man knew it was wrong but did not change his behavior. People used to think menstruation was a sign that women were evil. It's still called "The Curse", after all. Women were considered unclean and weren't allowed to participate in community activities while menstruating. Of course, we know this is a normal function of the female body. It's natural and genetic (in that ONLY women menstruate). So how long will it be before the world understand that -being- homosexual is not a sin, but something they cannot help any more than having green eyes? Whether you believe that -acting- homosexual is a sin or not is a personal decision. But you shouldn't condemn someone for -being- homosexual. Sorry, but condemn or not, there is nothing "normal" about queers. I'm sure pediphiles have urges that they "cannot help" too, are you okay with them?

Once again... There is a difference between what two consenting adults do, and what someone does to children, who are NOT consenting adults.

You can't tell me a 14 to 16 year old can't consent. And an adult having sex with them is still a pediphile. You're full of it.

You're talking statutory rape laws, and that's a whole 'nother animal, GOM. A pedophile is attracted to YOUNG children. Those who are incapable of informed consent. Pedophiles, like any other sexual PREDATOR, is into the control issue. YOUNG children can be controlled which gives these slime the rush and the sense of power. Once again, they are NOT the same thing as two ADULTS doing something THEY enjoy in PRIVACY.

Now pay attention, because there'll be a test later... ATTRACTION to the same sex is inherent. How one ACTS on that attraction is a choice. Not so difficult to comprehend, now is it?

The problem here is that THESE particular pastors and founders of Christian churches are life-long adulterers and fornicators.
Whether they are straight or gay...if they know that they will be engaging in CHRONIC extramarital affairs or prostitution, they have NO BUSINESS PREACHING THE BIBLE to people AS A CAREER.
I don't feel sorry for these jerks at all. They duped their congregations into thinking that they were RIGHTEOUS MEN.

The Islamic prophet/founder Muhammed married a SIX-year-old girl and consumated the marriage when she was NINE! He was 54 years old at the time.

Uh oh... we'd have very few pastors if this were true... actually... none. We all sin, even pastors... this isn't why they should get kicked out. And he didn't get kicked out... he resigned. Which is very admirable, I think.

ATTRACTION to the same sex is inherent. There goes your argument about lesbians having babies. Hope that bullet you just shot into your foot doesn't hurt that bad. lol ;D

Being gay is inconsistent with evangelical teaching, maybe he'd be better off in a Unitarian church setting. The problem came when he gave into temptation and thus decieved the church family. His resignation should have come much sooner.

I know it is wrong, but when i think of a pastor who is gay, just makes you wonder if he is a pedofile, or could be one. As much as i want to believe he never did this to young boys is just hard to believe. i hope he didnt, and he he never has or never has the urge to, then he should just say he is gay and let the church decide if he should still be preaching to them. Maybe him quiting was best. He probably had a battle going on inside.

I am sorry, but I just now pulled up this thread, and I thought it said, "another POSTER resigns".
Methinks my insomnia has caught up with me. I'm outta here.

He definitely shouldn't be a pastor or a teacher, but I think the church leaders should try to counsel him and help him. He's obviously struggling, and if he's willing to submit to counseling and let God deal with him, he should be allowed to stay in the church. Where else is he going to find the help he needs, if not from spiritual leaders?
