That's what I was thinking, mommy. I can't fathom the reason they would need separate rooms. I thought it was part of their belief system to pray in the presence of others; non-believers, maybe to convert some. I know they're required to pray, I think, 5 times a day. Maybe they need the privacy because their praying rituals are quite demonstrative and unsettles people of other religious persuasions. Peace, OHD How about as a 'strategy' room for planning attacks at airports. That could be a reason for 'prayer rooms'. Does anyone doubt it? I don't. All this special request for muslim rooms is doing is catering to a group that wants special rights and causes more problems than it solves. The other issue is they always face east, to Mecca. If slims are on a plane from NY to LA and it's noon, what will they want to do, ask the captain to turn the plane around so they could sit in their seats and face the east? This entire issue is ridiculous. Peace through strength, KO i seriously think that if they were to attack a plane or something they'd have it figured out before arriving at the airport.

The 9/11 attackers did dry runs. there is a difference between a dry run and going home to talk about what went wrong and planning an attack 40 minutes before the plane takes off. do yall seriously not think that these rooms will be bugged and have listening devices installed if they do put them in?

Well, in this case, I'm not sure it's more about the Muslim's wanting a seperate location as it is more about making it more comfortable for everyone ELSE who will have a problem with it. *shrugs* I don't see the need for chapels at all...but to each their own. If I (as a Christian) suddenly plopped down on my knees in the middle of the airport concourse, stuck my butt up in the air and started mumbling in another language, many folks would call that "disruptive" and some would even call it "inappropriate" or "attention-getting". What would they think in Karachi, Pakistan if a Pentacostal Christian started doing a snake dance and speaking in tongues in their airport? What's the liklihood of a Pentecostal Christian actually doing a snake dance and speaking in tongues in an airport, in Karachi, Pakistan? That's one of the most nearly impossible scenarios I've ever heard of. Peace, OHD

i seriously think that if they were to attack a plane or something they'd have it figured out before arriving at the airport. Of course they would. To state that a prayer room would be used for plotting makes about as much sense as SK's frequent assertion that all ME looking people need to be put thru intense questioning before they can fly at all. Way too many people seem to assuming that terrorists are jsut plain stupid and will do obvious things to tip off even the dumbest security types.

He wasn't from the ME GOM. He looked like he was and he was xxxxxxx. No, he didn't really. Additionally, we was screened by the security folks in Paris a number fo times and they found nothing. So, it shows that the screening process is very flawed. He certainly didn't plan it will in the airport. No attacks are planned wil at an airport.

Didn't imply that I thought the "prayer rooms" would be used for planning purposes.
