We are always hearing about how Social Security is going to run out of money.
How come we never hear about Welfare running out of money?

We are always hearing about how Social Security is going to run out of money. How come we never hear about Welfare running out of money? Whoa. That was a good one, pipaduck. I never did qualify for welfare. I did for food stamps, which helped me feed tiny mouths after the father walked out. When I inquired about welfare, the lady told me that since the fathers of my sons paid child support, that I couldn't qualify for the extra help. I was already in a sh*tty mood to begin with. I looked at the lady and said, "Oh, so what you are trying to tell me is because I was married when my babies were conceived and birthed, and I knew who the father was, and they were paying child support, THIS is the reason I don't qualify?" The lady turned red, stammered, and said, "Basically yes, that's how it works." I said, "So basically, you reward whores who screw anything that moves, and don't know who fathered their babies?" She said, "yes, that's how it works." I got up, took my food stamps, gathered up my babies, and said, "F*ck you, and f*ck the people who made this stupid requirement." I'm all for getting something if you need it. But to just be a career 'ho to draw money, that's just wrong.

I'm all for getting something if you need it. But to just be a career 'ho to draw money, that's just wrong. Yeah, it's the widespread, flagrant abuse and mis-administration that has ruined the program for hard working, moral, and ethical people who just happen to be on the skids, temporarily. I've never been on welfare, but when we were just kids coming up on our farm, the crops would fail, some years, and we had no choice but to go and stand in line to collect "commodities," the old version of "food stamps," usually just generic canned beef, peanut butter, lard, flour, corn meal, powdered milk, powdered eggs, and brick cheese. The meat and cheese were great, but the LARD smelled like a damned skunk got in the food! Dad used to call it, "goat meat," and he may have been closer to the truth than we kids knew. We were terribly embarrassed, and ashamed, but so were the folks in a slow moving line, in front of us, and behind. Peace, OHD
