NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- Thousands of visitors roll into New Orleans this week for Southern Decadence: five days of celebration of gay culture in a city now being promoted by tourism officials as a honeymoon site for same-sex newlyweds — despite the state's constitutional ban on gay marriage. "It just shows the dichotomy between what business knows in the state and what our political leaders think," said gay rights activist John Hill. "Obviously, the business community in New Orleans knows that the gay travel market, the honeymoon destination, is a big market." finance.yahoo.com/news/orleans-promoted-gay-honeymoon-haven-144923901.html

Another section of NOLA that will fade from HIV deaths. My girls and I went up and down Bourbon Street in the French Quarter, partying every night, for 4 nights in 2010 and we didn't notice even one set of queers celebrating. Stayed in a fine old, 4 Star hotel, just around the corner and didn't encounter any there either. If the freaks are there, they must have their own "districts," much as in the San Francisco "Gay Area." They do infest that area during Mardi Gras, obviously. Nearly all TV programs and ads give the impression, by design, that queers and normal people like to hang out and party together. Not so. Peace, OHD

"Obviously, the business community in New Orleans knows that the gay travel market, the honeymoon destination, is a big market." Barnum and Bailey made big bucks off of freak shows, why shouldn't NO?

"Obviously, the business community in New Orleans knows that the gay travel market, the honeymoon destination, is a big market." Barnum and Bailey made big bucks off of freak shows, why shouldn't NO? Right. The capitalists in NOLA don't give a sh*t what the freaks do as long as they can separate them from their money. That makes them "suckers" in at least two ways, one figurative, the other literal. Peace, OHD
