WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention told people on Sunday not to eat raw alfalfa sprouts, saying they may be contaminated with salmonella. hereDidn't this happen last year too?

We are getting more & more contaminated foods than ever. It seems every other week another food is banned. I don't remember all this contaminated food 20 years ago. If it's not e-coli, it's Salmonella. Both come from not handling food correctly. We had contaminated peanuts, and pistachio's and many other foods that normally are fine.. I think it's from illegal aliens working in the fields or processing plants and they don't wash their hands.

SK, the past outbreaks have been shown to be caused by cow poop in the irrigation systems. Take your prejudices and put them somewhere else.

SK, the past outbreaks have been shown to be caused by cow poop in the irrigation systems. Take your prejudices and put them somewhere else. Cows always made poop before and we didn't have food outbreaks like we have today.. Cows pooped all thru history without causing harm- What has changed in the past few years that we have so many outbreaks now? Something had to have changed that we are having so much recall of our foods in the 21st century. I gave my opinion to what I think it is.. Why do you think our food system has got so out of wack these past few years? Something has changed- what? All that is left for the contamination is the processing plants of the food and the labor force in those plants. I can't think of nothing else.

Let see: little to no inspection of all foods, weaking of the inspection standards, allowing companies to inspect themselves, increases in factory farms, and a whole lot more.

Let see: little to no inspection of all foods, weaking of the inspection standards, allowing companies to inspect themselves, increases in factory farms, and a whole lot more. That may play a small part, but we have floods of illegal workers who come here to work in food plants without any medical checks some have T.B. along with other diseases, they don't hand wash like they should. Mike Savage talks about this problem alot, many restaurants also have been having trouble with food poisoning. One of Savages books talks about this subject too. Look how many foods have been recalled in just the past few months, it was never that bad before..

Go on believing what your disembodied voice tells you and ignore facts SK. I'm sure you are happier that way. Afterall those who investigate the outbreaks can't possibly know as much as Mr Weiner.
